Drawing and pencil art are fundamental to my teaching, serving as the foundation for artistic expression and technical mastery. I emphasize precision, shading, and form, guiding students in developing strong observational skills and a confident hand. Through structured lessons, I teach techniques such as line weight, texture, and depth, helping artists create compelling and dynamic work. It's fun learning to draw, so don't worry and let's start sketching!
Acrylic Painting
Acrylic painting is a versatile and dynamic medium, focusing on layering, blending, and texture to create depth and vibrancy. I guide students in mastering techniques such as glazing, impasto, and dry brushing, allowing them to explore both realism and abstraction. Acrylic’s are a great and easy way color any drawing you've created.
Career Building
Artist career building is a crucial aspect of my teaching, helping creatives turn their passion into a sustainable profession. I guide students in developing a strong portfolio, mastering self-promotion, and navigating the business side of art, including marketing, pricing, and networking. Through social media strategies, branding, and professional presentation, I help artists establish their identity and reach their audience. Whether pursuing freelance work, gallery representation, or online sales, my approach empowers artists to build successful, fulfilling careers. It's hard, but super fun, so worth every minute.
Ink Art
Ink drawing is a core focus of my teaching, emphasizing bold line work, contrast, and expressive detail. I guide students in mastering techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and brushwork to create depth and texture. This is actually, the most rewarding part of the drawing process. So grab a pen, lets ink together.
Mural Painting
Mural painting, whether with brushes or spray cans, is a dynamic and immersive art form. I love painting large-format pieces, and you may also enjoy it. I go over the pre-planning phase of a large piece. We go over safety, machinery, tools, techniques, and getting work as a muralist. No vandalism here, just good old-fashioned street marketing.
