Guiding young adults into the creative world
Welcome to a wonderful opportunity to learn and explore the depths of your creativity. My name is Josh, I'm a world traveler and artist. I also have more than two decades working with kids and young adults in mastering the life they want for themselves. Now, this doesn't always require art, but I like to think there is an art to living.
I work with anyone, at any age, but have a big heart for those on the spectrum. As I have a couple of family members myself on the spectrum, my life has always been involved with teaching and helping them grow. This usually takes love and patience, but as an artist, I teach skills that would often require years of practice in just much shorter time.
Growing up
What do I teach?
There are many assets to growing up that are often missed by parents. Not that parents don't have the resources to teach or give their kids what they need, but rather the child often wants to explore being independent and responsible without their parents over their shoulder. It's my job to make sure they are safe and comfortable practicing those avenues.
Parent's also need time to themselves again, which is a great benefit for families of all kinds. I teach life skills such as speech, interactions, work, friendships and how to pursue dreams they have always wanted.
How do I teach?
Much like a personal assistant, I mentor the young adult with common tasks, from shopping, saving, working, and talent development. With kids who are on the spectrum, this is wonderful experience to have not only someone who is an adult mentor them, but also be a friend they can trust in.
on an average day, we will go grab some delicious food and talk about life and hopes. Then go do something new and exciting like hikes, go-karting, conventions, concerts and much more. Though I am an artist, I am also a teacher and traveler. I know the value of new experiences in life.
What benefits are there?
After some time with the individual, they will see growth in communication with family and friends, as well as knowing how to make proper judgments on situations. For most of my students and kids, they learn to find their passions in life as well as become responsible adults. Of course this all depends on their age and needs. For some, they are learning to drive and practice getting their first job, where I teach and train them to be the best version of themselves. The benefits are numerous and parents quickly see the joy and development in their children within a few months. They will have a grand flavor palette, desire for nature and learning and hopefully, a better view of the world.
Do note though that not all children learn the same or at the same speed, but I do my best to teach with care and love for them not to feel afraid of failure. This program I run is for locals usually, but can be an online mentor as well. With modern technology, we can do a lot. Everything from gaming, classes, work, and even e-sports. I'm kind of a pocket friend, which is way better than Ai.
Why have this style program?
Because I have students from other countries contact me often and ask about many subject. This shows me that there is a huge need for well rounded and supportive people that can help young adults be less intimidated on the next stage of life. Well, if no one else will do it, I think I will take on the task and it's been a beautiful blessing for myself and families.
